During yesterday’s thrilling Falcons-Seahawks MNF game in Seattle, Pete Carroll made a questionable decision right before the half that had many people on social media ripping him for.
He attempted a fake field goal attempt with :06 seconds left. At first glance, it was obvious that the attempt was outrageous and Carroll deserved to get ripped up for even thinking about attempting it.

It makes Pete Carroll look even worse when the final score was 34-31, Falcons.
But after looking at the breakdown of the play and seeing how the blocking assignment were being made, you could see that if it wasn’t for LS Tyler Ott completely being whiffed by Falcons’ Grady Jarrett, that play should have worked:

After the game, Carroll explained the attempt:
“That would have been a really good call if we made it. We saw what we wanted to do. Terrific opportunity, right where we wanted it. Defensive tackle made the better play … he wasn’t supposed to be there.”
You can see that Carroll actually drew up something that would have worked out but unfortunately Jarrett just made a hell of a play or the Seahawks LS didn’t do his job.
Either way, the Seahawks fell to 6-4 and now have their playoffs in jeopardy.
