Marcus Williams went from a player on the Saints to the most hated man in New Orleans in 4 seconds Sunday night after missing a tackle that would have sent his team to the NFC Championship game.
Though the standout rookie safety racked up 73 tackles, only 6 missed tackled, and 4 interceptions (including one against the Vikings Sunday) on the season, all was forgotten as Williams ducked under Diggs.
Williams was immediately hit with hundreds of death threats laces with expletives, so much so he had to disable comments on his social media accounts.
There was some kindness that penetrated through the hate in New Orleans last night, with hundreds of fans making their way to the airport at 1 a.m. to greet the team, many of them showing support for Williams.
Thanks to the #Saints fans that welcomed us home at 1 am at the airport! Your support means everything #LoveTheSaints pic.twitter.com/OHOtU91Nj7
