Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier, who was released from the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute earlier this week, has regained movement in his legs and has begun a ‘regular walk routine’, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

One source told Schefter that Shazier is “making incredible progress.”

Shazier underwent spinal stabilizations surgery on December 6 after suffering a major injury during a routine tackle against the Bengals on Monday Night Football.

According to the report:

The next three to six months are critical in his recovery and will provide a significant idea how much more function Shazier can regain. But for now, the fact that he is out of the hospital and moving his legs and walking are all positive signs.

We’re rooting for you, Ryan!
