Josh McDaniels blindsided the entire NFL Tuesday night when he changed his mind about becoming the next head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, deciding to stay in New England as offensive coordinator despite already agreeing to take the position.
With the press conference set for Wednesday to introduce the Patriots offensive coordinator in Indianapolis, all was set for him and the Colts, including having numerous coaches he’d hired to fill out his new staff already in place.
Unfortunately for them, those hires, who already had resigned from their previous jobs to work for McDaniels, found out about him backing out last moment the same way the rest of us did, and not from him.
Spoke with several members of what was supposed to be McDaniels’ Indy coaching staff. They have not heard from Josh McDaniels regarding the change of heart. Just as blindsided as the rest of us. #Colts
