Cardinals President Michael Bidwill Publicly Supports SCOTUS Nominee Through Cardinals Twitter Account Despite Telling Players To Stick To Sports

Double standard or nah?

On Monday, the Arizona Cardinals posted a story on their team website praising the new Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh from team president Michael Bidwell and retweeted a post from ESPN’s Adam Schefter with the letter Bidwell and fellow high school classmates are sending the Senate Judiciary Committee in support of Kavanaugh:

There really isn’t anything wrong with the support from Bidwell towards Kavanaugh but doing it through the team’s Twitter account and website raises questions as to which form of ‘politics’ is accepted in the NFL and which isn’t.

Following the tweet, many pointed out the hypocrisy of Bidwell because he was quoted telling reporters following the league’s new anthem policy was implemented that he wanted “focus to be back on football” and away from politics:

You can’t expect the players to “stick to sports” when it’s owners don’t.
