The Buffalo Bills suited up 53 guys Sunday to square off against the Los Angeles Chargers today looking to get their first win of the new season. By the start of the 3rd quarter, they only had 52.

According to Bills’ LB Lorenzo Alexander, down 28-6, Davis quit on the team, changed into street clothes, and literally decided to retire during halftime.

He was interviewed postgame:

Bills coach Sean McDermott declined to go into details about what happened with Davis but confirmed that he chose to stop playing.

Davis signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Bills this offseason, but it sounds like he is done with the Bills and has no intention of honoring that contract.

The Bills went on to lose the game, 31-20.
