CBS Insider Says Le’Veon Bell Could End Up In Green Bay With The Packers

As the rift between the Steelers and Le’Veon Bell grows further and further apart, Pittsburgh has begun listening to trade offers for the star running back.

Having failed to report to the team through three weeks into the new season, it’s not likely Bell will step foot in the facility until Week 10, the deadline to report in order to be a free agent next year.

Another option would for the Steelers to trade Bell and get what they can’t for him while they can, and according to Will Brinson of CBS Sports, the Green Bay Packers are in a position to acquire of the the best, if not the best running backs in the NFL.

Per 247 Sports, Brinsin lists the Packers along with the Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. The report follows CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora mentioning the Packers as a team that makes sense for Bell.

“To me the Packers make a ton of sense. The Bucs make a lot of sense. The Dolphins — they’ve kind of gone anti-splashy moves lately, but that would the Tannenabum/Steve Ross model,” La Canfora said. “I’ve got a sleeper team for you: the defending world champion, fly Eagle fly Philadelphia Eagles.”

La Canfora believes if they’re lucky, the Steelers could land a second round pick in return for Bell.

Currently, the Packers have three solid running backs – Jamaal Williams, Aaron Jones and Ty Mongomery. They are not on the same level as Bell, but Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has stressed he likes the current rotation at the position.

Through Week 3, Pack is currently ranked 24th in the NFL in rushing offense with an abismal 89 rushing yards per game.
