Landon Collins Rips The Refs Following Giants 33-31 Loss To Panthers

One of the more exciting games of Week 5 was in Carolina with the Giants and Panthers. But, despite being of the more exciting games of the week, the game was not short of controversy, thanks to the officiating.

Following the devastating loss, Collins was asked about the mood of the locker room and the former all-pro safety did not hold back:

Collins himself was called for unnecessary roughness while attempting to make a play on the ball early in the fourth quarter, leading to a first down instead of 4th-and-13 for the Panthers. Cam Newton eventually threw a touchdown pass on that drive to extend the lead to 27-16 after the ensuing extra point.

On the Panthers final drive to setup a game-winning field goal attempt by Graham Gano, there was a questionable spot of the ball on 3rd down that ended up allowing Cam Newton to spike the ball do stop the clock.
