Alex Smith’s season ended Sunday in a gruesome way, and with the Redskins looking to stay afloat at the top of the NFC East without their starting quarterback, the team has signed free-agent Mark Sanchez.
The Redskins are expected to sign QB Mark Sanchez, per source. He’ll serve as the back-up to Colt McCoy.

Formerly of the Jets, Eagles, Broncos and Cowboys, Sanchez signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears last offseason. He saw spent the entire 2017 season on the bench, not even dressing for a single game.
