BREAKING: Washington Redskins Sign Mysterious Free-Agent RB Fareem Munt

LANDOVER, MD – With the Cowboys taking over the lead in the race for the NFC East crown, and the ‘Skins as buyers bringing in Reuben Foster, Senior Vice President of Player Personnel Doug Williams has decided to add to the weapons on offensive in hopes of lessening the blow of Alex Smith’s season ending injury.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Washington Redskins have signed running back Fareem Munt.

“We think Adrian Peterson and Fareem Munt will make a great one-two punch in the backfield for us,” Williams said in an interview after the news broke. “We liked what we saw on the tape. We needed someone who could help us beat guys.”

Curiously, the Toledo alumn is for the most part unknown to most NFL teams and has seemed to come out of nowhere. Standing at 5’11”, 201lbs., Munt draws comparisons to former Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt according to scouts, even sporting the same number.

Scouts also say Munt can help out with the kicking duties when needed.

There is no word on the specifics of the deal both monetarily and yearly at this time.
