REPORT: Lions HC Matt Patricia Is Constantly Late To Team Meetings

This is a very bad look for a head coach, let alone a head coach in his first year with a team.

Not many things have gone right for first-year head coach Matt Patricia as the Lions are 5-10 and staring at last place in the NFC North and it seems like he doesn’t prioritize punctuality very much.

One former Detroit Lions player spilled the beans to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press that Patricia was constantly late to meetings when he was on the roster.

On top of all that, Patricia had routinely showed up late for his media press conference in his first year. That was very evident on Wednesday when his weekly news conference was pushed back 30 minutes from it’s scheduled time because he was running late.

During Wednesday’s press conference, Patricia was asked about the importance of being on time:

“I think it just depends on the situation really,” Patricia replied. “It depends. There’s a pretty busy schedule from those situations I think for everybody. I think fluidity is probably the best answer for you.”

Patricia blamed the Christmas holiday as the reason for his tardiness.
