Pat McAfee To Make NFL Broadcasting Debut During Week 17 Packers-Lions Game

You won’t find another more well liked punter in NFL history than Pat McAfee.

That reputation is landing former Indianapolis Colts punter an NFL broadcasting gig.

McAfee announced that he will make his NFL broadcasting debut with FOX as an analyst for Sunday’s Week 17 matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers on the latest episode of his hit podcast.

McAfee will join play-by-play announcer Justin Kutcher, color commentator Robert Smith and sideline reporter Sarah Kustok.

McAfee retired two years ago to leave the game of football to join the Barstool Sports team, but left the company in August, starting his own podcast with the IndyStar.

The former punter had even gathered a following doing humorous narration of plays from punters on his own social media pages.

Fans should expect some of that humor to make its way into Sunday’s broadcast, with McAfee saying, “I have a different attitude towards it. I think it should be a show — I think they’ve started to make it too serious.”
