The NFL world was stunned Tuesday when reports came out that Steeler star WR Antonio Brown has requested a trade.
The news broke in the days following the end to a disappointing season where the Steelers missed the playoffs despite a 7-2 start. The reasoning for the ask can be attributed to an altercation between Ben Roethisberger and disagreement with coach Mike Tomlin that left Brown benched for the team’s must-win Week 17 game.
The Steelers have been overcome with drama in recent years amid the Le’Veon Bell holdout, Big Ben retirement threats, and numerous incidents regarding WRs like Martavis Bryant and Antonio Brown.
Though it seems unlikely that Pittsburgh would trade Brown considering his position as arguably the best WR in the NFL, former Steelers safety, current ESPN NFL analyst Ryan Clark appeared on The Scott Van Pelt Show, saying the team must trade Brown, recounting an instance where a money-hunrgry Brown lashed out once he received a new contract.

“When it comes to being a good teammate, when it comes to being supportive, understanding you’re trying to reach one goal, that doesn’t matter to him. What matters to him is: 19 attempts – 14 catches, 185 yards, 2 TDs against the Saints. That’s what’s important to Antonio Brown” pic.twitter.com/T6ANwAxIE0
