Kyle Long On Facing His Brother Chris Long In Playoffs On Sunday: “We’re Not Related”

Kyle Long and the Bears will host the Eagles Sunday in the first week of the NFL Playoffs, and Kyle will be welcoming a familiar face to Chicago in doing so.

Kyle’s brother, Chris, plays for Philadelphia leaving the Long family in a awkward situation with who to cheer for.

Kyle spoke to the media on Thursday about his mindset going into the game where he’ll be battling it out against his brother saying, “They tell us to tune out the outside, you know, media, stuff like that, but you can’t tune out your family. Unfortunately, I’m playing against my family this week. You’ve got to look at it as just another dude out there. He kind of looks like me, possibly, but on Sunday, we’re not related, so I’ve got to focus on my job.”

Making things even more awkward for the family is that their father, Hall of Famer Howie Long, turns 59 on Sunday.

Kyle long told the Chicago Sun Times that he feels for his parents:

“Man, it’s probably going to be pretty crazy for them,” Kyle said. “It’s gonna be a fun birthday for them. I don’t think my mom will be able to watch. She’ll be there, but she’ll probably have her eyes covered the whole time. They love their kids. They’re going to be happy to be here. I think everybody’s just happy.”

Chris Long has won back-to-back Super Bowls with the Patriots and Eagles so maybe it’s time for Kyle to do something great.
