Kicker Robbie Gould Has Made 82 Of His 85 Field Goal Attempts Since Being Cut By The Bears

Chicago’s season ended Sunday night on the foot of Cody Parkey, who missed a 43-yard field goal to lose the game with 10 seconds left.

The Bears kicker was in that position only after being signed during the 2018 offseason with the team in search of a new kicker having released longtime kicker Robbie Gould before the 2016 season. The Bears tried their hand with Connor Barth, Roberto Aguayo, Cairo Santos and Mike Nugent, finally settling on Parkey for 2017.

Between kicking struggles and cap hits, it has also seemed like a curse for the team ever since releasing their all-time leading scorer, and Gould’s performance since being released only rubbed salt into the wounds.

As a New York Giant and a San Francisco 49er, Gould has made 82 of his 85 field goal attempts, a whopping 96.47% of his kicks.

To make it even more sweet for Gould, he was in the stands last night to witness the team that cut him go down because of one of his replacements.

Ironically, if the Bears decide to move on from Parkey who struggled during the regular season as well, Gould could reportedly be a target.
