Though many believed the team would give former interim coach Gregg Williams the job after a successful end to the season following Jackson’s firing, Kitchens beat out Kevin Stefanski for the job. His role in helping develop rookie QB Baker Mayfield likely put him over the top.
Williams will remain on staff and reclaim his duties as defensive coordinator.
