Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has become the face the of the NFL after a record setting first year as a starting quarterback, and he could be on the verge of a record-breaking contract as well.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs are expected to extend Mahomes’ contract after the 2019 season, the first time the MVP candidate is eligible for an extension, and eh could land the NFL’s first $200 million contract.

The 23-year old Mahomes passed for 5,097 yards and a league-leading 50 touchdowns, which is tied for the second-highest single season total in league history. Mayhems led the Chiefs to a 12-4 record and the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs.
