The Indianapolis Colts have a new starting quarterback and have just signed him to a new contract extension.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Colts and Jacoby Brissett have agreed to terms on a two-year extension worth $30 million. Rapoport also reported that Brissett will get $20 million guaranteed at signing:
Brissett was heading into his final year of his rookie contract where he was set to make just $2 million. The Colts made it a priority that they lock up their new starter for the near future.
When Andrew Luck missed the entire 2017 season with a shoulder injury, Brissett was the one who stepped in after the Colts acquired him in a trade from the Patriots.
He threw for 3,098 yards, 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 15 games while Indianapolis went 4-12.
