It seems like patience for Marcus Mariota to break out in Tennessee has finally run out.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Titans are benching Mariota in favor for backup Ryan Tannehill, whom the team acquired via trade from the Dolphins this offseason.
The #Titans are making a QB change. Ryan Tannehill has been informed he’ll get the start Sunday against the #Chargers, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. Former No. 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota goes to the bench.

Tannehill saw time during the Titans loss to the Broncos on Sunday, preforming relatively well going 13-14 with 144 yards before throwing a goal line pick. Mariota only managed 63 yards on 7 for 18 passing with two interceptions.
The problems in Tennessee run deeper then at the quarterback position, with a horrid offensive line, but sometimes change for the sake of change can motivate a team.
The Titans find themselves sitting at 2-4 and at the bottom of the AFC South.
