Matt Rhule Informed Baylor Players Through Texts That He Was Taking The Carolina Panthers HC Job

Matt Rhule is heading to the NFL as the former Baylor head coach has agreed to terms to become the head coach of the Carolina Panthers.

The entire situation came quickly for Rhule who was offered a mega contract from Panthers owner David Tepper that he simply couldn’t refused.

Good for Rhule but unfortunate for his Baylor players that he’s leaving behind, who got word of the news through social media. Rhule didn’t have the opportunity to tell his former players he was leaving for the NFL, instead he opted to send them this awkward text:

“I’m sorry you guys are hearing about this through the media. I love you and this team. I have a unique chance to go try to win a Super Bowl and take the Process to the NFL. I hope you understand. I’ll be here in town so please come see me at any time.”
