Josh McCown Played 2nd Half Of Eagles Playoff Game With Torn Hamstring, Will Undergo Surgery

Though he came up short, Josh McCown put up a gutsy effort in relief of Carson Wentz Sunday night in the Eagles Wildcard playoff game against the Seahawks, and now it was even more commendable than we thought.

The 40-year-old entered the game during the first quarter after Wentz was concussed by a hit from Seattle DE Jadeveon Clooney.

With the list of injuries for Philadelphia seemingly insurmountable, turns out even Josh McCown was injured.

According to Tim McManus of ESPN, the veteran backup played the second half of the game with a torn hand string, which will require surgery this week to repair.

McCown, who broke down in tears postgame reflecting on his family and long journey he’s traveled or reach where he’s at now, had been in the league 17 seasons and had never once played in a playoff game.
