Outside of Tom Brady, the biggest free agent quarterback was Dak Prescott and while there was no chance he would be able to hit the free agent market, one domino has fallen in the Prescott contract saga.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys are placing the franchise tag on Dak Prescott:
The tag is the exclusive franchise tag, which means no other team is able to negotiate with Prescott. It will cost the Cowboys $33.1 million.
The Cowboys have until July 7th to sign Prescott to a long term deal or else he will have to play on the franchise tag in 2020.
