Richard Sherman Wasn’t “Bothered” By Getting Torched By Sammy Watkins In Super Bowl LIV

Richard Sherman had a great 2020 season as he was named to the All-Pro team and was a vital piece in the San Francisco 49ers’ 13-3 season that culminated into a berth in Super Bowl LIV.

For three quarters, it looked like they would be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy until Patrick Mahomes decided to be Patrick Mahomes, torching the 49ers defense.

The Niners’ defender who got the most flak for the 49ers collapse was Sherman, who surrendered a 38-yard reception to Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins in the fourth quarter that setup a go-ahead touchdown.

During an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Sherman said that he’s not bothered by allowing the pivotal catch to help the Chiefs win the Super Bowl:

If the 49ers are going to return to the Super Bowl in 2021, they are going to need the All-Pro Richard Sherman and not the one we saw in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIV.
