Lions Fans Thank Deshaun Watson For Getting Matt Patricia & Bob Quinn Fired By Donating To His Charity

One of the NFL’s best trends is happening in Detroit, where Lions fans are donating to Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson’s charity as a thank you for dismantling their team on Thanksgiving. Watson was near perfect last Thursday, throwing for 318 yards and three touchdowns, which happened to be the final nail in the coffin for Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn.

Following the game, the Lions cleaned house on Saturday.

Watson’s foundation is dedicated to “education, health, housing and other charitable causes that support families and youth in underserved communities” and more than $1,000 have been donated as of Sunday morning.

Many fans reportedly donated $13 for Patricia’s 13 wins during his time in Detroit. Over the two-and-a-half seasons as head coach, Patricia finished with a 13-29-1 record (.314 win percentage). According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Watson will match the donation, providing the first 100 with free lunch at Lefty’s in Detroit, which is the same restaurant that catered the Texans’ pregame meal earlier this week.
