PeeWee Football Coach Facing Criminal Child Abuse Charges For Punching Player

Gerrell Williams will never coach football again, and rightfully so.

The youth football coach is facing criminal charges for repeatedly striking one of his 9-year-old players at the 2020 American Youth Football National Championships AA Div 1-7U tournament in Kissimmee, Florida.

Despite the child opting not to press charges against her son’s coach, The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office along with local state attorney’s office have reviewed this case and the decided to file child abuse charges for his actions regardless of the victim’s parents’s decision.

“The actions of this person are despicable and there is zero tolerance when it comes to the abuse of a child,” Jacob Ruizsaid said in a statement Friday.
