REPORT: Carson Wentz Will Request Trade Out Of Philadelphia If Jalen Hurts Remains Starting QB

The Carson Wentz era in Philadelphia is over.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Wentz is not interested in being a backup quarterback and would request a trade from Philadelphia if the current situation — Jalen Hurts starting at QB — continues in Philadelphia:

Eagles coach Doug Pederson has not been committed to Hurts being the permanent starter since making the change, only going as far as saying Hurts will make the start Sunday vs Arizona.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Jalen Hurts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, a move that surprised many, considering Carson Wentz signed a 4-year contract extension worth $128 million.
