Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu and Tom Brady were involved in a verbal altercation during Super Bowl LV that resulted in the Chiefs safety getting a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

But after the game, Mathieu tried to shed light on what happened.

Without getting into anything specific, Mathieu claimed on Twitter that Brady called him something, and he wouldn’t repeat what it was.

Mathieu deleted the tweet soon after:

During his postgame media availability, Mathieu declined to get into specifics about the incident, but told reporters he didn’t believe it impacted how he preformed.

“I thought I played as hard as I can today. Listen, Tom Brady’s a great quarterback. I never really saw that side of Tom Brady, to be honest. But whatever. No comment. It’s over with. I’m done with it.”

Mathieu finished with three tackles in the loss and had a first-half interception negated by a holding penalty.
