49ers Have Reportedly Contacted Panthers About Potential Teddy Bridgewater Trade

The San Francisco 49ers are clearly in the market for a quarterback and while they say they are committed to Jimmy Garapollo, their actions behind the scene say otherwise.

According to Joe Person of The Athletic, the 49ers are one of the many teams that have reached out to the Carolina Panthers about QB Teddy Bridgewater:

The Panthers have made their feelings felt about their starting quarterback as the team is gearing to make a strong run at Deshaun Watson. Meanwhile, Bridgewater has unfollowed the team on Instagram. Not only that, the front office included him in a trade offer to obtain Matt Stafford.

Person added that the team isn’t in a rush to move Bridgewater until they find a replacement. The Panthers signed Bridgewater to a three-year, $63 million contract last March.

Last season, Bridgewater recorded 3,733 yards, 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 15 games played.

He also rushed for 279 yards and five touchdowns.
