On Tuesday, Miami Heat forward Meyers Leonard came under scrutiny after he dropped an anti-semitic slur on a live stream that prompted him to immediately apologize and forced the Miami Heat to keep Leonard away from the team indefinitely:
This prompted New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who is Jewish to pen an “open letter” to Leonard on social media offering “some perspective” and inviting the NBA player to join him for a Shabbat dinner:
This isn’t the first time Edelman has preformed an act like this, when DeSean Jackson posted something anti-Semitic on social media last summer, Edelman offered to take the wide receiver to the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. to educate him, and then visit the Museum of African American History and Culture.
