BREAKING: Dolphins Trade No. 3 Overall Pick To San Francisco 49ers In Massive Trade

We have our first massive trade for the NFL Draft.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Miami Dolphins have traded the No. 3 overall pick in next month’s NFL Draft to the San Francisco 49ers:

Filed to ESPN: Dolphins trading No. 3 overall pick to the San Francisco 49ers for the No. 12 pick, a 2021 third-round pick (SF’s comp pick for Robert Saleh hiring) and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023, per sources.

In return, the Miami Dolphins are getting the No. 12 overall pick, a 2021 third round pick and future first round picks in 2022 and 2023. The 49ers, meanwhile, made this move to select a quarterback:

And the 49ers did not trade up with one QB in mind. They traded up because they’re good with the options that will be their at No. 3.

49ers now square in the QB mix, but are holding on to Jimmy Garoppolo and have no plans to trade him, per sources.
