BREAKING: Alex Smith Is Retiring

Alex Smith is retiring from the NFL after 16 seasons.

The former No. 1 overall pick announced on Instagram that he wast retiring from the game one year after making a miraculous comeback from a gruesome knee injury that required 17 surgeries:

Smith, who last played for the Washington Football Team was drafted No. 1 overall by the San Francisco 49ers in 2005, he was then traded to the Kansas City Chiefs before ultimately ending up in Washington. The 36-year-old is a three time Pro Bowler who recently won the 2020 NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.
