BREAKING: NFL To Allow Alternate Helmets For Teams Wearing Throwback Uniforms

NFL fans rejoice.

For the past seven years, a rule was put into place that due to safety reasons, only allowed teams to issue one helmet to players, one they would stick with throughout the season. The rational was that a properly broken-in helmets were safer for players in protecting their heads than new ones would be.

This rule made completing the entirety of the ‘throwback look’ tough when teams chose to wear throwback uniforms.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that rule will be changing as early as 2022.

The rule change will open the door for the Buccaneers to wear their infamous Creamsicle helmets, the Eagles to bring back their iconic Kelly green helmets, and many more.
