Broncos Name Teddy Bridgewater Starting QB, Drew Lock As Backup

The Broncos have their guy, and it isn’t Drew Lock.

Teddy Bridgewater made the most of his preseason outings thus far in Denver, and it’s landed him with the starting job.

The Broncos starter from last year, Drew Lock, will take over backup duties. Lock, statistically, was the league’s worst starting quarterback last season.

Bridgewater went 9-of-11 for 105 yards and 1 TD good for a 136.7 passer rating in the team’s second preseason game Saturday.

Teddy was brought over to the Broncos in a trade with the Panthers for a 6th round pick and the team elected to draft CB Patrick Surtain Jr. with their top selection in the 2021 NFL Draft instead of a quarterback.
