Ravens Coach John Harbaugh Asked Lamar Jackson If He Wanted To Go For It On 4th & 1

They say scared money don’t make money, and it appears the Ravens are believers in just that.

On an NFL Sunday where the Houston Texans punted from their opponents territory instead of electing to try a 3rd & 10 or a 4 & 2, the Ravens beat arguably the second bets team in the NFL with one of the ballsier calls you’ll ever see.

With the decision of whether to punt away the football back to Patrick Mahomes with 1:05 left or go for it on 4th & 2 in their own territory, with failure almost certainly meaning a game-winning field goal for KC, John Harbaugh asked Lamar Jackson if he wanted to go for it.

The rest is history.

Coaching scared in the NFL has become a rather archaic way of doing things, especially with the insurgence of analytics.

The Baltimore Ravens have the largest analytics staffs in the league, and it just paid off and will surely continue to do so.
