New York Giants offensive lineman Nick Gates suffered an ugly leg fracture in a 30-29 loss to the Washington Football Team last Thursday night, and remains hospitalized in the Washington D.C. area.
Not only is the injury a season-ending injury but Giants head coach Joe Judge told reporters last Thursday that there is a possibility that the injury could be career-ending:
In addition, Judge told reporters that Gates is expected to undergo additional surgeries in the coming days.
Although Judge admits Gates’ injuries could be career-ending, he and the Giants remain hopeful that like Seubert before him, Gates will return to the team and make a long-term impact.
Gates’ agent, Jon Perzley, is even more encouraged, telling ESPN’s Jordan Raanan that he is confident Gates will return to the field for the Giants in 2022:
