As it turns out, Russell Wilson’s finger injury is a lot worse than originally thought.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Wilson is expected to miss at least a month and possibly 6-8 weeks with a ruptured middle-finger tendon that will likely require surgery:
Wilson injured his middle finger during the Seahawks’ Week 5 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football. A loss that knocked the Seahawks to 2-3 and in last place in the AFC West.
Barring something unforeseen, Geno Smith will likely take over as the team’s starter in Wilson absence.
