Derek Carr Urges NFL To “Open Up” All Coaches Emails & Texts After Jon Gruden Incident

Derek Carr seemed to have been finally hitting his grove, and now he’s without his coach.

Jon Gruden is no longer coach of the Las Vegas Raiders following the infamous emails including homophobic, sexist and racist language that left Gruden with no option but to resign.

On Wednesday, Carr was at the podium and was of course asked about the situation, and noted that everyone has skeletons in their closets and hypothetically asked the league to disclose every coach’s email outbox.

“I love the man, but you hate the sin,” Carr said. “Nobody is perfect. Let’s start opening everyone’s emails and texts and people would start sweating a little bit

“But you hate the action, you hate it. You’re not supposed to like it, but you love the person. And I love the person. I’ve grown to love him so much.”

“Hopefully not too many, but maybe that’s what they should do for all coaches and GMs and owners from now on. You got to open up everything and see what happens.”

“But long story short, you hate, you feel for everybody involved, but I will always be someone, no matter who does what, I’m going to love you. And if that’s wrong, then I’m okay being wrong. I’m going to try and build people up no matter what. That doesn’t make what they did right, but I’m always going to be there to try and be there on the next step, on the other side, to try and lift them back up and love them up again.”

Carr and the Raiders are currently 3-2 and face off against the division rival Denver Broncos this upcoming Sunday.
