REPORT: Texans Backed Out Of Deal With Dolphins And Raised Asking Price After They Got Word Deshaun Watson Was Settling Lawsuits

A week ago, it was clear that a deal between the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins for Deshaun Watson was very close but after news broke that Watson may be in the process of settling his 22 civil lawsuits, the Houston Texans backed out of any deal.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Dolphins “wanted Watson to settle the 22 civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct during massage therapy sessions and once the Texans caught wind of the growing possibility that the 22 civil lawsuits would be settled, their price for Watson went up.”

The Miami Dolphins remain in the driver seat for Deshaun Watson, who has made it clear he is only waiving his no-trade clause for the Dolphins but its looking increasingly likely that Watson remains with the Texans past the Nov. 2 Trade Deadline.
