REPORT: Seahawks Are Showing ‘Strong Interest’ In Odell Beckham Jr With Russell Wilson “Urging” Seahawks To Sign Him

The Cleveland Browns have granted Odell Beckham Jr. his wish of being released and speculation is building on where the star wide receiver will land when he eventually passes through waivers unclaimed.

While multiple teams are being mentioned including the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers, Mike Jones of USA Today reports that the Seattle Seahawks are emerging as front runners for Beckham Jr.

Per the report:

But another potential suitor to keep an eye on is the Seattle Seahawks, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on behalf of the team.

The Seahawks have shown strong interest in acquiring the wide receiver, the person said. Quarterback Russell Wilson has urged Seahawks brass for a Beckham signing, and in recent days, team officials have done extensive research on the wideout.

The Seahawks have talent at wide receiver with Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf but have been in the market for a third wide receiver. Last year, they had interest in signing Antonio Brown, who ultimately singed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
