REPORT: Cam Newton Turned Down Offers From Two Other Teams Before Signing With Panthers

Cam Newton is back in Carolina, but he could’ve been on another team much earlier in the season.

According to Panthers insider Sheena Quick, newton down a pair of contract offers from the Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans:

Both the Texans and Seahawks have dealt with injuries to their starting quarterback this season with Russell Wilson going down following finger surgery and Tyrod Taylor missing a lot of time with a hamstring injury.

Tyrod Taylor is back for the Texans and Russell Wilson is set to return this week for the Seahawks.

Meanwhile, Newton agreed to a contract with the Panthers on Thursday worth up to $10 million with $4.5 million guaranteed and a $1.5 million roster bonus. That’s starting quarterback money.
