Cam Newton is back in Carolina, but he could’ve been on another team much earlier in the season.
According to Panthers insider Sheena Quick, newton down a pair of contract offers from the Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans:
Both the Texans and Seahawks have dealt with injuries to their starting quarterback this season with Russell Wilson going down following finger surgery and Tyrod Taylor missing a lot of time with a hamstring injury.
Tyrod Taylor is back for the Texans and Russell Wilson is set to return this week for the Seahawks.
Meanwhile, Newton agreed to a contract with the Panthers on Thursday worth up to $10 million with $4.5 million guaranteed and a $1.5 million roster bonus. That’s starting quarterback money.
