Following their 31-10 victory on Monday Night Football over the Los Angeles Rams, 49ers safety Jimmie Ward sent a blunt message to the newest member of the Rams – Odell Beckham Jr.
Early in the first quarter, Ward picked off a Matthew Stafford prayer that was thrown in the direction of OBJ. After the interception, OBJ laid a nice hit on Ward.
In his postgame comments, the 30-year-old Niners safety was asked what was going through his head during the INT.
His reponse took aim at Beckham:
“I was just thinking about how Odell came and hit me. How I’m going to have to pay him back next time I see him,” Ward said. “I’ve been waiting for a long time to hit him.”
The 49ers improved to 4-5 by defeating the Rams for the fifth consecutive time. The team AFC West foes will meet again January 9th in Los Angeles.
