Cowboys-Raiders Thanksgiving Game Was Most-Watched Regular Season NFL Game In 30 Years

They say football is king in this country, and combine it with one of the most American holidays, and you get this.

The Cowboys welcomed the Raiders to town on Thanksgiving for the middle slot of the annual turkey day slate, and the game did not disappoint. The game was sent to overtime, capped off by an overtime game-winning kick from Vegas, and only partially spoiled by a ridiculous 28 combined penalties thrown by the game’s officiating crew.

The ratings on Thanksgiving are always high, but the viewership for the game were record-breaking.

Per Adam Schefter, more than 38 million people tuned in, making it the most-watched regular season NFL game in 30 years.
