REPORT: Browns “Could Be Player” Potential Deshaun Watson Trade

Deshaun Watson was not traded during the trade deadline earlier this season and now all eyes turn to the offseason.

Multiple teams including the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers have consistently been mentioned as potential suitors for Watson, with the Dolphins the leader of the pack. But due to his ongoing legal issues, a trade has been nearly impossible to complete. Watson has not been charged with a crime at this time, but is under investigation for numerous accusations of sexual misconduct by more than 20 women.

But there is another team that could be lurking in the background. According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Cleveland Browns ‘could be a player’ for Watson this offseason:

Breer was a guest on Cleveland’s 92.3 The Fan on Wednesday and was asked about a potential Watson trade:

“I think if and when Watson becomes available—and I think we all assume the Texans are gonna get him out on the market in the same sort of way the Lions got Stafford out on the market pretty quickly last year—and obviously all of this is pending the legal stuff, but I expect the Browns to be a player. I think the Browns are going to throw their hat in.

The Browns currently sit at 7-7 and are in last place in the AFC North. A lot of that is due to the poor quarterback play from Baker Mayfield, who has dealt with a serious of injuries this season.

Cleveland travels to Green Bay to take on the Packers on Christmas Day.
