The last thing Mike McCarthy needed was an early playoff exit and unfortunately that’s exactly what happened.
The Dallas Cowboys season came to an end on Sunday, following a 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The game was filled with self-inflicting wounds with the Cowboys committing 14 penalties for 89 yards. The also ended in a head scratching way after the Cowboys ran a shotgun draw with 0:14 seconds remaining in the game and the team having no timeouts.
Prior to kickoff, CBS Sports Jason La Canfora reported that with McCarthy’s top assistant coaches drawing interest for head coaching vaccines across the NFL, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones could make a move to replace McCarthy with one of his coordinators if the Cowboys season ended in disappointment.
Well it did and now all eyes are on Jerry Jones.
