REPORT: Saints ‘Determined’ To Trade For Deshaun Watson & Are Prepared To Make ‘Aggressive’ Offer

Could the New Orleans Saints be the new favorites to land Deshaun Watson? Recent reports seem to be suggesting that much.

According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, Saints general manager Mickey Loomis is “determined” to land Watson. And he’s prepared to make a significant offer that should get the Houston Texans’ full attention.

Loomis is expected to try to meet with Watson, as soon as permission is granted, for him to talk directly with teams in what could amount to something of an NFL-style recruiting process for the Georgia native and former blue-chip Clemson recruit

The New Orleans Saints may be in cap hell at the moment, but the report states that Loomis is prepared to make whatever roster-shaking move necessary in order to make this happen.

The Saints will have some serious competition from several teams, including the Carolina Panthers. They do have an advantage, however, as they can offer Watson a chance to be competitive right away — something the Texans quarterback is believed to be looking for in his next team.
