REPORT: Browns Want To Move On From Baker Mayfield Because They Want An “Adult” At QB

Since Tim Couch, the Cleveland Browns have seemed to be in an endless search for a franchise QB to pull them out from the depths of NFL irrelevancy, and after drafting Baker Mayfield who lead them to an 11-5 season in 2020, it had appeared like they finally had their guy.

Until now.

It appears as if the Baker Mayfield era is all but over in Cleveland, with the team shifting their focus into nabbing coveted Texans QB Deshaun Watson.

While there’s nothing overly obvious in particular that soured the relationship between Mayfield, the Browns and their fans, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen alluded to the team not caring for his amateur leadership style, going as far as to say they want an “adult” under center.
