Marcus Mariota is the new man in Atlanta.
The Atlanta Falcons had ambitions of trading for Deshaun Watson, and once the chase for the Texans QB was set into motion, the relationship between Matt Ryan and Atlanta has been severed.
After the Falcons missed out on Watson following a shocking agreement to be traded to the Browns, the team decided to trade Matt Ryan to the Colts Monday for a 3rd round pick.
To fill the void, the team has traded for Raiders backup QB Marcus Mariota.
The decision to go after Mariota likely has something to do with the suggestion of Falcons head coach Arthur Smith, who was Mariota’s coach in Tennessee during their time with the Titans.
