Cincinnati Bengals Release Offensive Lineman 30 Minutes After Signing Him To A New Contract

The National Football League can be a cruel business and if you don’t believe me, just ask Fred Johnson.

The Cincinnati Bengals officially announced on Tuesday that they signed offensive lineman Fred Johnson. However, 30 minutes later the team had a change of heart.

The Bengals wound up waiving Johnson only 30 minutes after officially announcing the signing.

The Bengals no longer needed Johnson after they signed former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman La’el Collins. Collins will now be the starting right tackle for Joe Burrow this upcoming season.
