In what seemed like at first a scripted portion of Sunday’s ceremony, Will Smith stormed onto the stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscars.
Rock, who was on stage presenting the award for documentary feature, made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett being in “G.I. Jane” due to her shaved head. Jada reportedly has been dealing with a medical condition related to hair loss forcing her to shave it.
Moments later, Smith walked onto the stage and slapped Rock on the face, returning to his seat and screaming “Keep my wife’s name out your f*cking mouth!” multiple times.
