REPORT: Tom Brady Was ‘Very Close’ To Joining The Miami Dolphins With The Hopes Of Becoming A Minority Owner

Tom Brady retired from the NFL on February 1st.

Just weeks later, the greatest of all time returned to the game but what may have caused the change of heart is a little complicated.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Brady was “very close” to joining the Miami Dolphins this offseason.

Brady had intentions of becoming a minority owner in Miami, according to reports. If he had, the Dolphins would reportedly have eventually acquired the rights to Brady from the Bucs’ roster.

According to Pro Football Talk, Brady was “very close” to becoming a Miami Dolphin this offseason.

Brady had intentions to become a minority owner in Miami, according to reports. If he had, the Dolphins reportedly would have eventually acquired the rights to steal Brady from the Bucs’ roster.

“Even though it didn’t happen, it’s an important consideration because Brady will continue to hover as a potential addition to the Dolphins,” Florio reports, via Pro Football Talk. “He has a close relationship with Bruce Beal, the right-hand man and successor-in-waiting to Dolphins owner Stephen Ross. With Brady under contract for one more season in Tampa Bay and his deal containing a no-tag clause, Brady will be a free agent in 2023. He will be able to sign with any team he chooses.”
